How does Email Cleaning work?

Where Email Cleaning is available, CleanX can help you review newsletters and promotional emails, unsubscribe from selected senders, and delete unwanted messages.

Email Cleaning may organize your emails by sender or category, making it easier to find messages you no longer need.

Depending on your CleanX version, you may have options such as:

  • Keep

  • Unsubscribe

  • Delete

  • Undo

How to use Email Cleaning

  1. Open Email Cleaning in CleanX.

  2. Complete the Google or Gmail sign-in flow if prompted.

  3. Wait for the email scan to finish.

  4. Open a sender or category.

  5. Choose Keep, Unsubscribe, or Delete as appropriate.

  6. Review the number of selected senders or messages.

  7. Confirm the action and check the result.

What's the difference between Unsubscribe and Delete?

Unsubscribe and Delete are different actions.

  • Unsubscribe stops or changes future emails from a sender. It does not necessarily remove emails that are already in your inbox.

  • Delete removes selected existing messages.

Review the selected sender or message count before confirming either action.

Requirements

Email Cleaning may require:

  • An internet connection

  • Google or Gmail access

  • A supported account or subscription entitlement

The feature is available on iOS and Android where supported. Availability and feature parity may vary by platform and app version.

Why isn't Email Cleaning loading?

If emails do not load, first check that:

  1. Your Google or Gmail sign-in was completed successfully.

  2. CleanX has the required account permissions.

  3. Your internet connection is working.

Then reopen Email Cleaning and try again.

Important

Never share your Gmail password, access token, or full private email content with CleanX support.
